Before you ask

Most VARAHI issues are one of four things, and all four are covered above.

Common self-fixes

If a setting does not apply, the theme editor is serving a cached version. Load the admin, and the storefront, in a private window, and try again.
A Liquid error in a section renders as a broken region. Look at the storefront source, or run:
VARAHI ships with zero errors. If yours reports errors, they were introduced after installation.
A password page cannot be indexed and cannot be audited. Online Store → Preferences → Password protection.
Ad blockers and privacy extensions block Shopify’s scripts and will break the cart, the search modal and the wishlist. Test in a private window with extensions disabled before concluding the theme is broken.
Shopify’s product form requires a product. If you have a custom section using {% form 'product', ... %}, make sure it is guarded by an {% if %} check.

What to include in a report

Including these makes a report answerable in one round trip.

Reporting a performance regression

Performance issues are the hardest to diagnose remotely, so give the specifics.
Attach the HTML report and note:
  • Which template the regression is on
  • Whether it started after a specific change — an app, a section, a content update
  • The before and after network request totals
Always report against the published store. A report taken against the theme dev server will show roughly 3 MB of Shopify development tooling that no customer will ever download, and it will send the investigation in the wrong direction.
